Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community offered its support for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
