I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two time world boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
