The Blue Jays Claim Fall Classic Showdown Versus Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

Springer previously helped the Astros securing the World Series in 2017.

Toronto's Blue Jays earned a spot in their first World Series following 1993 by defeating the Mariners in the final Game 7 of the ALCS.

Trailing by two runs, Springer delivered a three-run home run in the seventh frame, leading the only Canadian franchise in MLB to a 4-3 triumph in the best-of-seven series. Next up are the Dodgers, who are the current crown, in the anticipated World Series.

"I'm just so happy for everyone here, our city, the nation," Springer stated, a star of the Houston Astros team that won the 2017 World Series. "What an amazing experience."

George Springer has now hit 23 total October home runs, placing him third all-time behind Manny Ramirez (29) and Altuve (27).

"I can't think of another person anywhere that I'd prefer in that spot other than him with his playoff prowess," noted Schneider.

Seattle, who had led the series 2-0 and 3-2, continue to be the one club yet to make an appearance in a Fall Classic.

Wilson stated "without a doubt that it hurts" after his team's loss at their home ballpark, but commended their efforts this season.

"They're an exceptional squad. Sadly that we finished on the unsuccessful side of this one," he remarked.

Toronto's team claimed the title on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and '93, and will host the Dodgers in the opener on this Friday.
