The President Welcomes Relatives of Shot National Guard Soldiers to White House

President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the relatives of a Guard member killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He added that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Incident

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

White House Invitation

The president said he’s discussed a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump addressed reporters. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Response

Attendees came together over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to aid public safety in DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“She was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” Hankins, the leader of her previous school, told the media. “She was sweet, caring and always eager to support those in need.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Steps and Policy Revisions

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the administration to suspend refugee claims and temporarily stop issuing visas to owners of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, according to the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Morrisey stated on television.

Attorney general the attorney general told a news show that she also intended to speak to the family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a military police officer with distinction, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had bravery,” he addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
