This event led to the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

This event – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
